Beirut: The Ministry of Interior announced that 109 municipalities out of 272 in the South and Nabatieh governorates have been elected by acclamation. This development highlights a significant portion of the local governance structure in these regions being established without the need for electoral contests. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, in addition to the municipalities, 16 villages in the Saida district also achieved acclamation victories. This indicates a notable trend towards uncontested elections in these areas, reflecting on the local political dynamics and community agreements.
