40 killed in attack at concert hall near Moscow – Russian auhtourities


Moscow: According to Russia’s FSB security service, at least 40 people were killed and over 100 injured when gunmen wearing camouflage clothing opened fire on concertgoers at a music in the Crocus City Hall near Moscow on Friday using automatic weapons.

As the Soviet-era rock group “Picnic” was set to perform, at least five gunmen were seen in unverified videos firing repeatedly at screaming spectators who were cowering in the performance hall. This was one of the worst such incidents to have occurred in Russia in years.

Foreign Ministry condemns Moscow’s armed attack


Amman: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the armed assault that targeted a concert hall in Moscow, the Russian capital, on Friday and left multiple fatalities and injuries.

The ministry spokesperson, Ambassador Sufian Qudah, expressed the Kingdom’s sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

He also expressed the Kingdom’s solidarity with the Russian Federation in this terrible tragedy and its total rejection and denunciation of this cowardly terrorist act that targeted innocent civilians.

Additionally, Ambassador Qudah affirmed that none of the injured or deceased were Jordanians.

Gaza death toll passes 32K


Gaza: The death toll from the war on Gaza has reached 32,070 and 74,298 injured, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.

According to the daily statistical report, issued by the ministry, on the number of martyrs and wounded resulting from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip for the 168th day, nine massacres against families were carried out by the Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip, with 82 martyrs and 110 injuries arriving in hospitals in the last 24 hours.

Civil defense and ambulance staff are unable to reach the several casualties who are still under the rubble and on the highways.

JAF conducts six joint humanitarian airdrops to Gaza


Amman: The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) on Friday carried out six joint airdrops of aid to the north of the war-ravaged Gaza Strip.

A total of six aircraft participated in the airdrop operation: two C130s from the Royal Jordanian Air Force, one each from the Arab Republic of Egypt, the United States of America, the Federal Republic of Germany, and the Republic of Singapore.

The international involvement in the airdrop operation is part of Jordan’s efforts to seek support from more international positions in order to provide food aid to the people living in substandard conditions due to the ongoing Israeli war, particularly during the fasting month of Ramadan.

Since the commencement of Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the JAF has conducted 55 airdrops and 82 airdrops in collaboration with brotherly and friendly nations.

Jordanians rally in solidarity with Gaza


Amman: Following Friday prayer, thousands of citizens participated in solidarity marches through the capital city of Amman and other governorates in the Kingdom.

These protesters condemned the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression against Gaza, which has resulted in tens of thousands of martyrs and wounded, the majority of whom are defenseless civilians, such as women, children, and the elderly.

The marchers denounced the unfair treatment of the Palestinian issue by the international community and urged it to take responsibility for stopping Israel from committing more crimes against civilians in Gaza. They also emphasized the need to uphold international humanitarian law and international law.

They emphasized their support for the wise Hashemite leadership in assisting the Palestinian people, advancing their rightful cause, and regaining their rights, and they expressed gratitude for the efforts undertaken and directed at all levels by His Majesty King Abdullah II to defend the Palestinian cause.

Jordan condemns Israeli decision to confiscate 8k donums


Amman: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates denounced the Israeli government’s radical minister’s decision to seize 8,000 donums from the Jordan Valley region in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The ministry spokesperson, Ambassador Sufian Qudah, reaffirmed the Kingdom’s categorical rejection and denunciation of the Israeli government’s ongoing violations of all international law norms, pertinent Security Council resolutions, and approved international references. The ambassador emphasized that these deplored actions uphold the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent and sovereign state in accordance with June 4, 1967, lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and that they further impair all prospects for achieving peace based on a two-state solution.

The occupying power, Israel, must fulfill its obligations under international law and halt its settlement plans that seek to appropriate Palestinian lands and property, Qudah stressed.

Qudah reiterated his call to act
ion to the international community to act swiftly and decisively to halt Israel’s unilateral, unlawful, and illegal actions.

He emphasized that these actions, which take place during the holy month of Ramadan and the fierce, aggressive war Israel is waging on the Gaza Strip, are pushing for greater degradation and escalation, for which Israel is solely responsible.

6.4 quake hits off Indonesia’s Java island


Washington: The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that an offshore earthquake measuring magnitude 6.4 struck close to Java island in Indonesia on Friday.

The tremor was felt in Jakarta, the country’s capital, and forced people of another city to evacuate their houses.

The USGS said that the earthquake, which had a depth of around 8 kilometers, occurred off the northern shore of Java island, close to Bawean island.

Russia, China veto US resolution at UN on Gaza


New York: Due to the vetos of permanent members Russia and China, the United States’ draft resolution requesting a ceasefire in Israel’s ongoing attack on Gaza was not approved by the UN Security Council.

There were eleven votes in favor, three against, and one abstention of the text that was presented to the Council on Friday.

120,000 perform second Friday prayer of Ramadan at Al-Aqsa


Occupied Jerusalem: Thousands of worshipers performed the second Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem during the holy month of Ramadan, in spite of the severe and unheard-of Israeli occupation restrictions enforced on the Holy City and its environs.

In a statement, the Islamic Awqaf Department in Jerusalem said that 120,000 worshipers performed the prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque for the second Friday prayer of Ramadan.

Along with a humiliating body search that many young men were forced to endure at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City, the Israeli occupation forces had attacked a young guy, whose name was not yet known, on Salah al-Din Street in the center of Jerusalem before detaining him.

For the second week in a row, the occupation forces severely restricted Palestinians’ ability to come to Jerusalem from the occupied West Bank to perform Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Egyptian-US Agreement on Necessity of Reaching Ceasefire in Gaza, Prisoner-Swap Deal


Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry asserted on Thursday 21/3/2024 the importance of refraining from carrying on an Israeli military operation in Rafah city in the Gaza Strip.

In a press conference with his US counterpart Antony Blinken, he said that his talks with Blinken discussed situation in Gaza and the importance of reaching a ceasefire as well as allowing sufficient humanitarian aid into the enclave.

He added that the talks also discussed means of fostering bilateral relations within the framework of facing joint challenges.

He noted that Blinken, during his current visit, had held talks with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi as well as a number of Arab foreign ministers.

Shoukry added that his talks with US counterpart Antony Blinken also tackled means of boosting cooperation in political, economic, social and cultural domains.

He noted that strengthening Egyptian-US relations contributes to reaching regional stability and security.

Shoukry added that Blinken’s meetings in Cairo focused on the Gaza war
situation, the importance of reaching a ceasefire, releasing hostages and detainees and increasing humanitarian aid to face such an unprecedented situation.

The meeting also discussed the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights as well as the importance of ending the conflict on the basis of the two-state solution according to the international resolutions, he said.

He added that the international community, including the US, agreed on the importance of avoiding any Israeli military operation in Rafah.

Shoukry added that his meeting with US counterpart Antony Blinken as well as Blinken’s meetings with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, UAE International Cooperation State Minister Reem Al Hashemi and Palestine Liberation Organization’s Secretary General Hussein al-Sheikh was frank in which they agreed on the importance of joint action.

The talks also discussed continuing coordination and to direct experts to hold meetings soon to discuss concrete steps to double aid, the top diplomat added.

Shoukry expressed hope to overcome the current situation and reach a new phase in the region through ending the conflict on the basis of the two-state solution via establishing a Palestinian state on the borders of the 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital.

US State Secretary Antony Blinken said there is a consensus on the importance of reaching a permanent and sustainable ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and releasing hostages to allow more humanitarian aid.

In a joint press conference with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Thursday, Blinken added that he held talks with Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE and Qatar as well as the Palestinian Authority concerning the situation in Gaza and the possibility of reaching a permanent ceasefire.

r and Israel to find the best ways to return to the table of negotiations, Blinken said, adding that Hamas Movement should agree on the negotiations’ outcome.
