MIKATI CHAIRS MEETING OVER NORTH LEBANON SOLID WASTE DOSSIER, DISCUSSES GENERAL SITUATION WITH ‘NATIONAL MODERATION’ BLOC, RECEIVES DRUZE SECT COUNCIL DELEGATION


Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Tuesday chaired a meeting at the Grand Serail devoted to addressing the Union of Al-Fayhaa and Beddawi Municipalities’ solid waste dossier, attended by Caretaker Minister of Environment Nasser Yassin, President of the Council for Development and Reconstruction, Nabil Al-Jisr, and the Director of the Union of Al-Beddawi Municipalities, Dima Hamza.

After the meeting, Caretaker Minister Yassin indicated that ‘they discussed how to improve the solid waste management situation in Tripoli and the north.’

On the other hand, Premier Mikati received at the Grand Serail a delegation from the ‘National Moderation’ bloc, which included MPs: Walid Al-Baarini, Abdel Aziz Al-Samad, Mohammad Sleiman, Sajih Attieh, Ahmed Khair, and Ahmed Rustom.

On emerging, MP Sleiman said that they discussed with the Premier the current situation in the region and Lebanon, as well as the issue of security in north Lebanon and Akkar.

Mikati later received a delegation from the Druze Sect Council
, which included Sheikh Judge Gandhi Makarem, Sheikh Sami Abdel Khaleq, and Mazen Fayyad, who invited the Premier to an iftar banquet that will be held next April 3, at the Druze community house.

GASOLINE AND GAS PRICES EDGE UP, DIESEL PRICE FALLS IN LEBANON


The prices of 95 and 98 octane gasoline on Tuesday rose by 6,000 Lebanese pounds, while gas increased by 1,000 Lebanese pounds. Meanwhile, the price of diesel decreased by 2,000 Lebanese pounds. The prices stand as follows:

– LBP 1,696,000 for 95 octane gasoline

– LBP 1,734,000 for 98 octane gasoline

– LBP 1,550,000 for diesel

– LBP 941,000 for gas.

Qadirbuh participates in the activities of the Global Forum to Combat Corruption and Promote Integrity.

Paris: The Chairman of the Administrative Control Authority, Abdullah Qadirbuh, and his accompanying delegation participated today, Tuesday, in the Global Forum for Combating Corruption and Promoting Integrity, which is being held in the French capital, Paris, and organized by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development under the title ‘Designing Our Future with Integrity.’ .

According to the Authority, Qadirbuh’s participation in the two-day forum from March 26 to 27, 2024 comes in the context of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to build strong international partnerships to combat corruption and achieve justice and sustainable development, noting that the forum is an opportunity to exchange new ideas, visions and evidence. , and explore how anti-corruption policies and integrity frameworks can enhance our ability to address future challenges.

The forum aims to enhance integrity and combat corruption, and witnesses broad international participation by government agencies and bodies specialized
in the field of integrity, oversight and anti-corruption, in addition to civil society institutions, academics and researchers.

The forum coincides with the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Anti-Bribery Convention, which is the cornerstone of the global battle against corruption, and is considered a catalyst for changing policies and strengthening anti-corruption efforts at the global level.

Discussions regarding consular issues between Libya and Algeria.

Tripoli: meeting was held at the headquarters of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation today, Tuesday, to discuss consular issues between Libya and Algeria and address the obstacles facing the citizens of the two countries.

Tripoli: The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, received today, Tuesday, the President of the Baker International Corporation, Douglas Baker, and his accompanying delegation during their visit to Libya to meet with a number of Libyan institutions to discuss aspects of cooperation and investment between them.

The media office of the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government stated that the Foundation’s team presented a presentation outlining the areas of work and proposed aspects of cooperation with Libyan institutions, expressing their desire to work inside Libya.

30 PALESTINIANS KILLED IN ISRAELI BOMBING OF GAZA HOME


30 Palestinian citizens have Tuesday been killed following an Israeli bombing of a house owned by Abu Hasira family in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, west of Gaza City, medical sources confirmed.

As the Israeli brutal aggression against Gaza enters its 172nd day, the occupation forces continue sieging and targeting hospitals in the Strip, putting Al-Amal Hospital out of service, while continuing its military operations in Al-Shifa Medical Complex and its surroundings for the ninth day in a row.

The sources reported that nine people were killed after drowning in the Gaza Sea, while 5 others were missing while trying to obtain aid dropped from the air.

A number of citizens were injured as a result of occupation artillery shelling on Al-Nasr neighborhood, northeast of Rafah.

The occupation military vehicles also broke into the vicinity of Asdaa Prison, Street 5, and the Western Line in Khan Yunis, amid artillery shelling and gunfire.

The Israeli occupation has continued its aggression against the
