29 people dead in India after heavy rains, floods

TELANGANA: Twenty-nine people have died due to heavy rains and flooding in Telangana, India. State Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari declared 29 of the 33 districts as flood-hit. The government is releasing Rs three crore per district for relief efforts and estimating total losses at Rs 5,438 crore. Ex-gratia will be provided to the victims' families.
