Tehran: A 4.8-degree earthquake hit the city of Garmsar in Semnan province, located east of Iran's capital, Tehran. The tremor occurred at a depth of 11 kilometers below the earth's surface at 5:15 am on Sunday. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Iranian news agency "IRNA" reported the seismic event, emphasizing the need for residents to adhere to safety measures. Reza Khani, the governor of Garmsar, addressed the public in a press statement, describing the earthquake as terrible. He urged citizens to take necessary precautions while remaining calm. Khani also mentioned that relief workers are on high alert to provide assistance. Assessment teams are being dispatched to various parts of the city to evaluate the extent of the damage caused by the earthquake.
