Jerusalem - Ma'an - The Stars cinema chain in Strasbourg, France, canceled today (Sunday) the Israeli Film Festival that was supposed to open today, citing threats from pro-Palestinian organizations. It has been 15 years since the Israeli film festival 'Shalom Europa' was held in the eastern French city of Strasbourg. The municipality said a few months ago that this year, against the backdrop of the war between Hamas and Israel and the increase in 'anti-Semitic' incidents in the country, the festival had been postponed to an 'unknown date.' The festival was originally scheduled to take place from June 16 to 20 at the city's cinema. The announcement read: "The City of Strasbourg has always supported the 'Shalom Europa' festival - and will continue to do so. We pledge to help reorganize the festival on any date the organizers deem appropriate." Source: Maan News Agency
