Egypt urges immediate, comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza, Lebanon

CAIRO: Egypt has warned of the 'intractable risks' from Israeli violations in Gaza and Lebanon amid the recent Israeli escalating aggression, urging an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire. This came in a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, reiterating Cairo's warnings that the Israeli ongoing violations and actions could plunge the region into a state of confrontation and chaos. These violations could expose the peoples of the region to 'grave and intractable' risks, added the statement, which carried by Ahram Online. Egypt will intensify its efforts to engage with regional and international powers to contain the escalating violence, expressing its commitment to support all initiatives aimed at achieving a comprehensive and lasting peace in the region. The statement also emphasized that such stability is contingent upon halting Israeli military actions in Gaza and adhering to relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
