Two Egyptian and Emirati planes carrying relief and medical supplies landed at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport this afternoon. The planes were received by the Government Emergency Committee Coordinator, Caretaker Minister of Environment, Nasser Yassin, alongside Caretaker Ministers of Public Health, Firas Abiad, and Economy, Amin Salam, Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alaa Moussa, and Head of the Higher Relief Committee, Major General Mohammed Khair. In an issued statement, Minister Yassin thanked the sisterly countries of Egypt and the UAE for standing by Lebanon and responding to the Lebanese call and their urgent response in transporting relief and medical support and shelter materials to our displaced people, "particularly since Egypt and the UAE have a historical presence in Lebanon and close relations, as is the case with the remaining sisterly Arab countries." "This humanitarian response by Arab and friendly countries will contribute to covering the needs and help alleviate the wounds of ou r displaced people," Yassin added, noting that a platform that shows the number of aids received and distributed will be launched on Monday to show transparency. For his part, the Egyptian ambassador spoke about working on two humanitarian and diplomatic tracks to stop the fire in Lebanon, saying, "We will continue our coordination with partners, and I hope that there will be positivities, and we are making the necessary effort to stop this war immediately," stressing his country's leadership and people's commitment to standing by Lebanon and responding to the Lebanese people's urgent needs.
