Tel aviv: The Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Security Committee approved on Sunday a bill banning the UNRWA agency from operating in Israel. The Israeli daily newspaper, Yedioth Ahronoth, reported that the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Security Committee has approved a bill against UNRWA. The committee's approval of the bill paves the way for it to be sent to the Israeli Parliament's plenary for a second and third reading vote before it can become law. According to the bill, the 1967 agreement that allowed UNRWA to operate in Israel would be revoked, and thus the agency's activities would cease, and any contact between Israeli officials and its staff would be prohibited. The bill also provides that diplomatic visas will not be granted to UNRWA staff. Source: Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA
