Army Foils Drone-Assisted Drug Smuggling Bid

Amman: The Southern Military Zone intercepted a drug smuggling attempt involving a drone on Wednesday along the western front. According to Jordan News Agency, a military source from the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces/ Arab Army reported that border guard forces, in collaboration with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, thwarted the illegal operation. The source indicated that rules of engagement were applied, leading to the drone's cargo being shot down within Jordanian territory. The contraband has been transferred to the relevant authorities for further investigation. The military source emphasized the Jordanian Armed Forces' commitment to utilizing all available resources to prevent smuggling and infiltration activities, ensuring the security and stability of the Kingdom.
