BEIRUT: Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its commitment to aid Lebanon amid its current crisis, with the Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon, Walid Al-Bukhari, announcing the continuation of an air bridge to deliver food and relief supplies. This initiative underscores the Kingdom’s ongoing support during Lebanon’s challenging times.
According to National News Agency-Lebanon, Ambassador Al-Bukhari emphasized the Kingdom’s dedication to assisting Lebanon, highlighting the operation’s transparency and the presence of a specialized team overseeing the aid distribution. He also noted that the initiative had already delivered more than 350 tons of assistance. ‘We must stand by the Lebanese people in these difficult circumstances,’ Al-Bukhari stated during the reception of the first aid flight at Rafic Hariri International Airport.
The aid, consisting of food, relief, and medical supplies, arrived from Saudi Arabia and was welcomed by several key Lebanese officials. Among the attendees were the Caretaker Ministers of Economy,
Amin Salam; Environment, Nasser Yassin; Public Health, Firas Abiad; along with the Secretary-General of the Higher Relief Commission, Major General Muhammad Khair.
During the reception, the Lebanese Minister of Environment expressed gratitude towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its steadfast support and the efforts of all those involved in the aid process, including the King Salman Center.
