Ramallah: The Financial and Administrative Control Bureau and the Jerusalem Water Authority convened in Ramallah this Sunday to explore avenues for deeper cooperation in tackling the ongoing water crisis in Palestinian regions. The meeting, led by Amal Faraj, head of the Audit Bureau, and Abdul Khaliq Al-Karmi, Director General of the Water Authority, focused on strategic networking and the enhancement of water management efforts to benefit citizens across all areas.
According to Maan News Agency, Amal Faraj opened the session by acknowledging the critical efforts of the Water Authority’s staff in alleviating the water scarcity challenges that daily affect the Palestinian society. She emphasized the political nature of the water issue and the necessity for comprehensive cooperation among Palestinian entities to manage the crisis effectively. Faraj also highlighted that the water crisis remains a top priority in the national agenda, consistently reflected in the Bureau’s oversight reports.

rmi reciprocated the sentiments, expressing gratitude for the ongoing partnership between the Jerusalem Water Authority and the Audit Bureau. He detailed the current challenges and efforts within the water sector, particularly in the concession areas, and underscored the significant role of the Audit Bureau in supporting and networking with various sectors to navigate these challenges.
The meeting saw participation from key personnel from both organizations, including Ayman Jaradat, Financial Director of the Water Authority, Omar Abu Aqtaish, Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, and Duha Abu Jaber, Legal Advisor. The Audit Bureau’s delegation included Saleh Musleh, Director General of the General Administration of Performance Control, Majdi Mitani, Director General of Infrastructure Control, and Lana Assi, Head of the Public Relations Unit.
