Sharjah and Australia Strengthen Ties in Education, Business, and Culture

Sharjah: Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Government Relations in Sharjah, held discussions with Ridwaan Jadwat, Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Australia to the UAE, to explore potential avenues for collaboration across multiple sectors. The meeting, part of a high-level delegation visit at the House of Wisdom, aimed to enhance partnerships in education, business, the economy, and the arts, marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the UAE and Australia. According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting also welcomed the participation of Warren King, Deputy Head of Mission of the Commonwealth of Australia to the UAE; Sheikh Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of DGR; and Marwa Al Aqroubi, Executive Director of the House of Wisdom. Discussions delved into specialized areas of cooperation such as the fish trade, where both sides considered exchanging expertise and integrating advanced technologies in collaboration with Sharjah Asset Management. Moreover, opportunities to organize cultural events for the 50th anniversary of UAE-Australia relations were explored. Ambassador Ridwaan Jadwat praised the DGR's critical role in bolstering the ties between the two nations and highlighted potential academic collaborations with the American University of Sharjah. These include engagements with students to acquaint them with the fundamentals of diplomatic work. Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi responded positively, expressing his eagerness for the proposed cultural initiatives and emphasizing the importance of joint coordination to deepen bilateral relations. He reiterated the commitment of the DGR to support all efforts aimed at achieving mutual goals in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, further enhancing Sharjah's local and international stature through various events and activities.
