Intense Israeli Airstrikes in Gaza Result in 26 Civilian Deaths

Beirut: In a series of intense Israeli airstrikes on various locations across the Gaza Strip since midnight last night, at least 26 civilians have been reported killed with dozens more injured. The strikes targeted residential areas, leading to significant casualties and damage. According to National News Agency-Lebanon, the bombing in Khan Yunis was particularly severe. In the town of Bani Suhaila, east of the city, ten individuals from the Abu Ta'ima family were killed when their house was bombed. Additionally, in the Al-Fakhari neighborhood, seven more civilians, including children and women, lost their lives due to another raid. In the central Gaza Strip, Al-Nuseirat camp witnessed the deaths of six people with eight others injured after a house northeast of the camp was hit. Another two fatalities and multiple injuries occurred following an airstrike on a house northwest of the camp. Gaza City also reported casualties where two individuals died and over ten were trapped under rubble following airstrik es on a residential area in Al-Sina'a Street. Nearby, in the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood, three more were killed in a bombing near Salah al-Din Mosque. In the northern Gaza Strip, the Jabalia camp saw four deaths and several injuries after a house in the Al-Faluja area was bombed. Another civilian died near Al-Numan Mosque in the middle of Al-Nazla neighborhood. Local sources have indicated that the northern parts of Gaza are experiencing severe shortages of food and water, as the area has been under siege for 11 consecutive days. This has exacerbated the already dire humanitarian situation, with residents facing critical shortages of essential supplies and health services amidst the bombings. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) noted that around 400,000 Palestinians are currently besieged in the northern Gaza Strip by Israeli forces. This military operation, which began on October 7, 2023, is the third of its kind in the Jabalia camp since the start of the conflict.
