India BJP Chief Takes Oath as Haryana Chief Minister for Second Term

Panchkula: Leader of India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party Nayab Singh took oath as Chief Minister of Haryana on Thursday after his party won 48 out of 90 seats in the recently held Legislative Assembly Elections. According to Kuwait News Agency, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya administered the oath of office to Nayab Singh as Haryana Chief Minister for the second time in an oath-taking ceremony held at the Shalimar Ground in Panchkula. The event was marked by the presence of several top BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Alongside Nayab Singh, 13 Members of Legislative Assembly were sworn in as cabinet ministers and ministers of state during the ceremony. The BJP secured a significant victory in the Legislative polls held in Haryana on October 5, gaining 48 seats. The opposition, the Indian National Congress led by Rahul Gandhi, secured 37 seats, failing to take power after a decade in the opposition. Independent candidates won three seats, and the Indian National Lok Dal secured two seats when the results were announced on October 8.
