ADNOC Expands Use of AIQ’s AR360 AI Technology Across 30+ Reservoirs

Abu dhabi: ADNOC has expanded the use of AIQ's Advanced Reservoir 360 (AR360) solution to more than 30 reservoirs in its upstream operations, building on the initial success of the technology's deployment in early 2024 at Bab and Umm Shaif fields. According to Emirates News Agency, the AR360 solution, developed by AIQ in collaboration with SLB as part of ADNOC's ENERGYai initiative, employs artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to enhance reservoir management and field development planning. This deployment marks a significant step in ADNOC's strategy to integrate advanced digital technologies across its operations. ADNOC Upstream Executive Director Abdulmunim Saif Al Kindy highlighted the strategic importance of AR360, noting, "The integration of AR360 across more of our reservoirs is a testament to our success in harnessing AI and advanced technologies to unlock more value from our natural resources. Building on decades of investment in innovation and technology, we will continue to accelerate the deployment of AI solutions from the control room to the boardroom as we responsibly meet the growing global energy demand." AR360 notably reduces planning time and enhances well life and recovery rates by achieving an optimal balance between drilling new wells, boosting existing wells' performance, and optimizing injection and production volumes. Magzhan Kenesbai, Acting Managing Director of AIQ, emphasized the significance of ADNOC's extended deployment of AR360, stating, "The extended deployment of AR360 by ADNOC is an important endorsement of our technology and reinforces the emergence of AIQ as a developing global AI supplier for the energy sector." The AR360 technology converges multiple forecasting functions into a single platform, using AI to streamline processes and foster more proactive decision-making. This integration contrasts with traditional forecasting technologies that typically require navigating multiple software platforms and datasets, which can extend planning times. ADNOC's broader digital strategy includes the deployment of over 30 AI tools ranging from operational enhancements in the control room to strategic applications in the boardroom, aimed at improving safety, reducing emissions, and optimizing overall efficiency.
