Pakistani Cargo Aircraft Delivers 100 Tons of Humanitarian Aid to Beirut

BEIRUT: A special cargo aircraft from Pakistan, loaded with 100 tons of humanitarian aid, arrived at Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut. This initiative, supported by the Government and citizens of Pakistan, seeks to assist Lebanon during a challenging period. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the aid shipment includes essential items such as medicines, ready-to-eat meat, tents, tarpaulins, warm bedding, winter clothing, and dry milk. This operation aligns with directives from Pakistan's Prime Minister, H.E. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, highlighting Pakistan's dedication to aiding Lebanon. The National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan (NDMA) organized the delivery, coordinating with Al Khidmat Foundation Pakistan. Upon arrival, the shipment was received by H.E. Salman Athar, Pakistan's Ambassador to Lebanon, alongside MP Fadi Alame, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Lebanese Parliament, and officials from Lebanon's High Relief Commission. The consignment was forma lly handed over by Ambassador Athar to Lebanon's Minister of Public Health, Dr. Firas Abiad, Minister of Environment and Coordinator of Government Emergency Response, Dr. Nasser Yasin, and Major General Mohamed Kheir, Secretary-General of the High Relief Commission. In his remarks, Ambassador Athar expressed Pakistan's ongoing solidarity with the Lebanese people, emphasizing support for Lebanon's sovereignty and the right of its citizens to peace and security.
