According to Maan News Agency, the blaze occurred at Abu Hussein School, which serves as a refuge for displaced individuals, leading to urgent appeals for firefighting assistance and rescue operations. In response to the renewed targeting, Hamas released a statement condemning the Israeli aggression on the school, which houses displaced people in the Jabalia refugee camp. The statement criticized the indiscriminate shelling and referred to a previous attack two days prior, which Hamas described as a massacre. It also mentioned another school attack west of Gaza City that resulted in the death of several displaced individuals. Hamas further accused the Israeli occupation of intending to displace Palestinians through such violent acts. The statement emphasized that the Israeli forces were aware that the school was sheltering thousands of displaced individuals, including women and children, who had fled their bombarded neighborhoods.
