UN Calls for Immediate End to Atrocities in Northern Gaza

New York: Maan - The Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Acting Emergency Relief Coordinator, Joyce Msuya, has described the situation in northern Gaza as horrific, highlighting the dire circumstances faced by Palestinians due to the ongoing blockade imposed by Israeli forces. According to Maan News Agency, Msuya issued a statement on Saturday evening, detailing the severe conditions in Jabalia, where individuals remain trapped beneath rubble, with paramedics unable to reach them. The statement also noted the forcible displacement of tens of thousands of Palestinians as essential supplies dwindle rapidly. Msuya emphasized that hospitals, already overwhelmed with patients, have been bombed, calling for an immediate halt to these acts in line with international humanitarian law. She urged the protection of civilians, the wounded, the sick, health care workers, and medical facilities, stressing the importance of respecting international humanitarian law. Furthermore, Msuya called on Israel to comply with the interim orders issued by the International Court of Justice.
