Kuwait Expands Global Aviation Ties with New Agreements

KUALA LUMPUR: Kuwait has signed a series of aviation agreements with Spain, Suriname, Uzbekistan, and Cuba, aiming to strengthen its global aviation network. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation formalized these agreements during the Global Air Services Negotiation conference (ICAN-2024) in Kuala Lumpur, signaling Kuwait's commitment to enhancing its presence in the international aviation sector. According to Kuwait News Agency, the directorate's President, Engineer Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Al-Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, executed the agreements in meetings with aviation counterparts from the respective countries. The agreements are intended to connect Kuwait International Airport to a broader network of international and regional airports, facilitating the launch of operations in the new terminal at Kuwait International Airport and opening new travel routes. Sheikh Humoud Al-Sabah highlighted that these developments are part of Kuwait's ongoing efforts to elevate its aviation industry on a global scale. The ICAN-2024 conference, organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), provides a platform for aviation decision-makers, service providers, and authorities to collaborate and exchange expertise to advance the global aviation field. The annual event, held from October 21 to 25, brings together key stakeholders to foster cooperation and development in international air services.
