DGCA and ICAO Explore Cooperation at Key Aviation Conference

KUALA LUMPUR: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of Kuwait is seeking to enhance its collaboration with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), as discussed by Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Al-Sabah, Chief of the DGCA, and Salvatore Sciacchitano, President of ICAO, along with Mohammad Rahma, ICAO's director of air transport, during the ongoing Air Services Negotiation (ICAN2024) event in Kuala Lumpur. According to Kuwait News Agency, the discussions on Wednesday were part of the third day of the ICAN2024 conference, emphasizing the improvement of employee capabilities and workflow in line with ICAO's guidance. Sheikh Al-Sabah highlighted Kuwait's commitment to ensuring civil aviation and navigation safety. He praised the annual conference as a significant event, fostering the signing of agreements and memorandums of understanding. The ICAN2024 event, hosted by the Malaysian Ministry of Transport, runs from October 21 to 25. It brings together civil aviation representatives from around th e world and various regional and international organizations. The conference provides a platform for participants to engage in negotiations and bilateral talks related to aviation services, facilitating networking among policymakers, organizational authorities, operators, and service providers.
