Kuwait National Guard Engages in International Security Dialogue at FIEP Conference in Italy

Rome: The Undersecretary of the Kuwait National Guard, Lieutenant General Eng. Hashem Al-Rifai, led a delegation to the 30th annual conference of the International Association of Gendarmeries and Police Forces with Military Status (FIEP) in Italy. The conference focused on strengthening international security cooperation and addressing emerging global challenges. According to Kuwait News Agency, during the conference, Italian President Sergio Mattarella welcomed Al-Rifai, who conveyed greetings from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. Al-Rifai highlighted the robust bilateral relations between Kuwait and Italy and commended Italy for its efforts in hosting the conference and advancing security cooperation during its presidency of FIEP. The National Guard's statement, released on Thursday, noted Kuwait's five-year membership in FIEP and recalled Kuwait's successful hosting of the FIEP Human Resources Conferenc e the previous year, which included participation from 14 member countries. The recent conference also marked the transition of the FIEP presidency from Italy to France, with a focus on tackling issues related to artificial intelligence, irregular migration, and environmental challenges. Al-Rifai expressed appreciation to the conference organizers and the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including the Embassy of Kuwait in Italy, for their support in facilitating the National Guard's participation in the event.
