Dubai Chamber of Commerce Establishes Korean Business Council to Enhance Economic Ties

DUBAI: The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has announced the formation of the Korean Business Council, aiming to bolster economic relations and facilitate mutually advantageous opportunities between private sector companies in Dubai and the Republic of Korea. As one of the three chambers that operate under the Dubai Chambers umbrella, this initiative highlights a strategic move to deepen bilateral trade and investment connections. According to Emirates News Agency, the inaugural annual general meeting of the council was recently convened at Dubai Chambers, where participants identified key priorities and discussed future plans. The meeting also outlined an upcoming schedule of events designed to enhance economic cooperation, particularly focusing on sectors deemed most promising for business communities in both Dubai and Korea. Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, emphasized the significance of Business Councils as platforms for cooperation and partnership. "We remain committed to ensuring they contribute to the growth of the private sector and increase its contribution to sustainable economic development in Dubai," she stated. Country-specific Business Councils under the Dubai Chamber of Commerce are instrumental in representing the interests of companies and investors from strategically important markets to Dubai. They play a crucial role in establishing new channels of economic cooperation with global business communities and advancing the interests of investors operating in the emirate. In alignment with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), the chamber is actively working to increase the number of country-specific Business Councils. This effort is part of a broader strategy to promote Dubai's foreign trade and support the global market expansion of local companies.
