ABU DHABI: The National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) Board of Trustees recently held its fourteenth meeting, presided over by Maqsoud Kruse, to assess strategic plans and operational developments. The meeting focused on reviewing the 2024 operational plan and discussing the comprehensive agenda set for 2025, which aims to advance human rights initiatives and expand the institution's capabilities. According to Emirates News Agency, the Board analyzed the General Secretariat's periodic report, which provided insights into NHRI's administrative and financial operations, human resources, and technological advancements. The report highlighted the introduction of a mobile application, enhancements to the online complaints system, and the establishment of a call center dedicated to handling grievances, underscoring NHRI's commitment to accessibility and efficiency. The discussion extended to the 2025 operational plan crafted by the General Secretariat, emphasizing a broad spectrum of human rights programs. Key initiatives include 'Manabir', a YouTube series focused on human rights education, the launch of the semi-annual 'Rights Journal', and the 'Human Rights Oasis', a forum designed for dialogue with civil society. The plan also outlines awareness campaigns such as 'Know your rights', and innovative projects like 'Legislation Lab' and 'Knowledge Lab', which aim to foster understanding and engagement in human rights discourse. To realize these objectives, NHRI has embarked on the second phase of its talent acquisition plan, seeking skilled professionals for specialized roles across various departments. These include the Local and International Cooperation Department, Human Rights Protection Department, Human Rights Culture Promotion Department, and Strategic Communication Department, in addition to administrative and technical roles. NHRI has publicized the available positions through its official channels and social media, inviting applications from interested candidates.
