Arab News Agencies Emphasize Integrity in Global Reporting, Says Kuwaiti Minister

KUWAIT: Arab news agencies are playing a crucial role in disseminating reliable and factual information amid current global events, according to Kuwait's Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdurrahman Al-Mutairi. According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Mutairi highlighted the significance of Arab news agencies in fostering communication and sharing news among Arab nations during a meeting with the Federation of Arab News Agencies' (FANA) head and members participating in the 51st General Assembly hosted by KUNA. The discussions centered on strengthening cooperation to advance media development and enhance integration among these agencies. Al-Mutairi affirmed Kuwait's commitment to providing full support to the Federation to achieve a unified vision for Arab media and to elevate its global standing. He emphasized that media cooperation among Arab countries reinforces shared values and accurately represents Arab societies. The minister encouraged delegation leaders to u se these meetings as an opportunity to develop media strategies and enhance expertise-sharing to benefit Arab nations. Meanwhile, Dr. Jamal Al-Kaabi, President of FANA and Acting Director of WAM, identified the primary challenge for Arab media as unifying a cohesive framework that reflects Arab identity, culture, and the ambitions of leaders and citizens. He expressed gratitude to Kuwait for hosting the event, which strengthens joint Arab media efforts. The minister also accompanied the FANA delegation on a tour of the Ministry of Information Museum, which showcases Kuwait's media history.
