KUNA Director General Advocates for Enhanced Cooperation Among Arab News Agencies

KUWAIT: Dr. Fatma Al-Salem, Vice President of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) and Director General of KUNA, underscored the importance of the 51st FANA General Assembly meeting held in Kuwait. The gathering represents a collective commitment among Arab news agencies to enhance cooperation and facilitate knowledge exchange. According to Kuwait News Agency, Dr. Al-Salem, in her opening address, highlighted Kuwait's forthcoming role as the Arab capital of culture and media in 2025. She stressed the crucial function of Arab news agencies in providing accurate and truthful information, pointing to the necessity of regional solidarity. Dr. Al-Salem acknowledged the significant transformations in the media landscape, driven by modern technology and artificial intelligence, urging agencies to embrace innovation and invest in skill development. Dr. Al-Salem described the conference as a valuable platform for sharing ideas and exploring future collaboration opportunities. She expressed hope that discussio ns would reinforce ties among agencies and yield new strategies for addressing regional challenges. Gratitude was extended to key figures such as Dr. Jamal Al-Kaabi, Acting Director-General of WAM and FANA's President, and Dr. Fareed Ayar, FANA Secretary-General, along with all participating agencies, for their contributions and collaboration.
