Arab News Agencies Stress Importance of Kuwait Talks Amid Global Status Quo

KUWAIT: State news agencies from across the Arab region have placed significant emphasis on the critical nature of ongoing talks in Kuwait, highlighting them as essential for enhancing media cooperation amidst the current global "status quo." The discussions, held as part of the 51st General Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA), aim to ensure news agencies in the region align in delivering information with "accuracy and reliability." According to Kuwait News Agency, the meeting is taking place against a backdrop of rapid technological advancements in the media sector. Ahmad Al-Rumaihi, chief of the Qatar News Agency, pointed out that the emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) industry is one of the main transformations requiring news agencies to integrate these technologies into their daily operations. Oman News Agency chief Ibrahim Al-Azri emphasized the importance of the gathering, noting that the region is currently experiencing several "unprecedented" political events. Al-Azri stressed the necessity for increased cooperation on urgent issues, specifically mentioning the "Palestinian cause." Meanwhile, Jordanian representative Fairooz Mubaideen highlighted the talks as evidence of regional camaraderie. The discussions, which commenced in Kuwait earlier on Monday, cover a wide range of topics. Jordanian official Fairooz Mubaideen stated that the agenda includes the AI industry's impact and the role of Arab media in influencing public opinion. Additionally, Najeh Missaoui, chief of Tunis-Afrique Presse news agency, described the talks as a valuable platform for exchanging knowledge.
