Zayed Higher Organisation and Egypt’s Youth Ministry Launch Second Phase of ‘Jusoor Amal Holding’.

Cairo: The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO), in partnership with Egypt's Ministry of Youth and Sports and backed by ADQ, has initiated the second phase of the "Jusoor Amal Holding" programme aimed at empowering People of Determination throughout Egypt. This initiative is designed to provide comprehensive, free services that focus on enhancing the quality of life for participants and ensuring their integration into international events, thereby supporting both social and economic well-being. According to Emirates News Agency, a significant aspect of the second phase includes intervention programmes targeted at early childhood to mitigate the effects of disabilities. These programmes aim to enhance long-term well-being and improve cognitive, linguistic, and motor skills by capitalizing on critical developmental periods to ensure enduring success. Additionally, the initiative offers specialized support for children facing challenges such as autism, speech disorders, hyperactivity, att ention disorders, and learning difficulties, along with providing psychological and social assistance for families. This initiative is part of a broader cooperation agreement between ZHO and Egypt's Youth Ministry, which encompasses equipping 60 speech therapy centres with internet access and deploying mobile medical units to support People of Determination and their families nationwide. Abdullah Al Humaidan, General-Secretary of ZHO, emphasized the significance of the UAE-Egypt partnership in advancing inclusion and equal opportunities for people of determination. He stated, "We are working with our Egyptian partners to create sustainable environments that empower individuals to pursue their aspirations and improve their quality of life. This programme reflects a shared vision of sustainable development and ensures meaningful participation in society." Al Humaidan further underscored ADQ's sponsorship as an indication of its commitment to human development, expressing pride in collaborating with Egypt's Yo uth Ministry and other stakeholders to foster positive change. In conjunction with the rollout of these initiatives, ZHO is conducting a training programme for 300 specialists across the new speech therapy centres, featuring three workshops led by ZHO experts. A ZHO delegation is scheduled to visit Egypt in November to monitor progress and assess the new centres. By 2025, the Jusoor Amal Holding programme aims to equip 128 speech therapy centres across 27 Egyptian provinces. To date, 78 centres have been established with cutting-edge equipment and specialized staff to provide speech therapy, behavioural modification, sensory integration, psychological assessments, and skill development. Thirty additional centres are slated for completion by the end of 2024, with the final 30 set to open in 2025 in phases of ten centres each.
