Cairo: The 16th edition of the Nuclear and Security Forum commenced on Wednesday at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, focusing on disarmament and weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East. This critical gathering aims to address the pressing issues related to regional security and the proliferation of nuclear weapons. According to Kuwait News Agency, the forum is organized in collaboration with non-governmental organizations and Arab civil society groups dedicated to disarmament efforts. The Arab League emphasized the importance of such cooperation in a statement, highlighting the collective goal of achieving peace and stability in the region. The forum will tackle several crucial topics, including security challenges in the Middle East, and the environmental, legal, and humanitarian impacts of deadly weapons used in Gaza. Additionally, discussions will cover the latest developments in maritime security, reflecting the multifaceted nature of regional security concerns. The event has attracted par ticipation from over 100 experts, representing 14 Arab countries, alongside representatives from Arab and international committees. Kuwait has sent Diplomatic Attache Hamad Al-Saeidi, a member of the Permanent Delegation to the Arab League, to participate in this significant forum.
