Beirut: House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Monday received a phone call from Iranian Shura Council Speaker, Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, during which they discussed the current developments in Lebanon and the region in light of Israel's continued aggression against Lebanon. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Ghalibaf confirmed that "the Islamic Republic of Iran stands by Lebanon and supports it in implementing UN Resolution 1701."
