Lebanese Private Sector Network Unveils Roadmap for Economic and Political Revival in ‘Lebanon: The Day After’.

Beirut: The Lebanese Private Sector Network (LPSN) recently announced an economic and political roadmap under the theme 'Sovereignty, Stability, Prosperity' during a press conference at The Key Apart Hotel. The event aimed at addressing Lebanon's pressing challenges and was attended by media representatives and network members. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the network urged the caretaker government to initiate immediate actions, supported by urgent international aid, to help Lebanon restore full sovereignty. They emphasized that stability and prosperity could only be achieved by revitalizing state institutions and rebuilding governance structures. The network insisted on being part of the decision-making processes, citing its expertise and potential to empower Lebanon. Rima Freiji, President of the LPSN, highlighted the significance of the conference's timing, just days before Independence Day, as a testament to their commitment to a vision of an independent Lebanon. She underscored the netw ork's representation of a substantial segment of the legitimate private sector, comprising business leaders and professionals dedicated to addressing Lebanon's economic collapse. Freiji announced the 'Sovereignty, Stability, Prosperity' campaign, emphasizing that true prosperity is unattainable without stability, which is impossible without sovereignty. She advocated for 'economic diplomacy' as the best path to prosperity, supported by the state, civil society, and the Lebanese diaspora. Imane Tabbara, Head of the Economic Security Unit, warned of Lebanon's critical condition, urging immediate action on political and economic fronts. She called for the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolutions, enforcement of the 1949 Armistice Agreement, and the election of a President without delay. Tabbara highlighted the inseparable relationship between economics and politics, advocating for a change in Lebanon's approaches to these areas. George Abboud, a network member, discussed the need for mode rn strategies and participation of institutions in decision-making processes. He stressed the importance of attracting global investments through well-studied plans and a nurturing environment for economic development. Abboud reiterated the network's commitment to 'economic diplomacy' as a cornerstone for advancing Lebanon's national interests and supporting sustainable economic development. The speakers concluded by addressing media questions, outlining the roadmap's implementation mechanisms, and detailing steps to achieve the desired goals.
