Gaza: In a tragic escalation of violence, at least 66 civilians, predominantly children and women, were killed and dozens more injured following airstrikes by Israeli forces in the northern Gaza Strip. The strikes targeted a residential block near Kamal Adwan Hospital, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the severe attacks have overwhelmed medical facilities, with Kamal Adwan Hospital facing dire conditions. Medical staff are manually extracting bodies from the debris due to a lack of rescue teams. The hospital's capacity is further strained as serious cases are transported manually to the facility, highlighting the severe impact of ongoing Israeli military actions and the blockade on northern Gaza. Eyewitnesses report widespread destruction, with dozens of homes around the hospital leveled and others significantly damaged. Medical sources at the hospital have expressed concern about the facility's inability to perform specialized surgeries, as ne w medical teams are barred from entry by Israeli forces, leaving existing teams to provide only basic first aid. The situation is so dire that hospital officials fear it may soon become a mass grave if urgent international intervention and medical supplies do not arrive. The continued Israeli aggression in Gaza since October 2023 has resulted in over 43,985 Palestinian deaths and more than 104,092 injuries, with many victims still trapped under rubble and inaccessible due to ongoing hostilities. Despite international pressure, including calls from the UN Security Council for a ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice to prevent further genocide and address the humanitarian crisis, Israeli military actions persist unabated.
