According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the situation has been further complicated by armed factions gaining control over the city of Maarat al-Numan in the southeastern countryside of Idlib, as well as the 'Abu al-Duhur' airport in eastern Aleppo and its surrounding countryside. These strategic locations have become focal points of tension, exacerbating the already volatile situation. Adding to the complexity, the Syrian newspaper Al-Watan highlighted that joint Syrian-Russian airstrikes have been targeting terrorist sites on the outskirts of Jisr al-Shughur, west of Idlib Governorate. These raids are part of ongoing efforts to regain control and suppress militant activities in the region. Furthermore, the n ewspaper reported intense clashes between the Syrian army and armed groups to the southeast of Idlib, indicating a continued struggle for dominance in these contested territories.
