DAMASCUS: Two planes carrying humanitarian and relief aid from Saudi Arabia landed at Damascus International Airport on Wednesday, marking a significant contribution by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the Syrian people during a period of critical need.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the aid delivery was organized by the King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Relief, reflecting Saudi Arabia's continued commitment to providing urgent relief and contributing to the stabilization of the humanitarian situation in Syria. Dr. Samer Al-Jatili, spokesperson for the King Salman Centre, emphasized the Kingdom's dedication to assisting the Syrian people in their recovery and reconstruction efforts.
Dr. Hazem Baqla, head of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, highlighted that this initial delivery is part of a larger operation involving six airplanes and two trucks. The aid convoy is part of an emergency response plan, representing the first batch to arrive from the air bridge established as part of the intervention strategy.
Baqla expressed gratitude for the support from the King Salman Center and its partners, mentioning that aid from the Qatar Red Crescent had also reached Syria on Tuesday, underscoring regional collaboration in addressing the humanitarian needs.
