Beirut: MP Fouad Makhzoumi announced, in a post on X platform Monday, that he has decided to withdraw from the premiership race in order to pave way for an agreement over the nomination of Judge Nawaf Salam.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Makhzoumi's decision is aimed at facilitating consensus within political circles. His withdrawal signals a strategic move to consolidate support behind Judge Nawaf Salam, whose nomination is seen as a potential unifying factor in the current political landscape. Makhzoumi emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in his message, urging stakeholders to work together for the country's stability.
