Iraqi Prime Minister Commends Berri for Role in Lebanese Presidential Election

Beirut: House Speaker, Nabih Berri, received a phone call from Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani, who congratulated him on his efforts in facilitating the election of Lebanon's new president and addressing the recent Israeli aggression against Lebanon.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Berri expressed gratitude towards Iraq, acknowledging its leadership, religious authorities, and citizens for their continuous support for Lebanon. He highlighted Iraq's role during the recent Israeli conflict, noting that Iraq provided refuge to displaced Lebanese.

Both leaders underscored the significance of coordinating positions and enhancing cooperation between Iraq and Lebanon, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations and regional stability.
