Hamieh Asserts Government’s Role in Lebanon’s Reconstruction

Beirut: Caretaker Minister of Public Works and Transportation, Ali Hamieh, on Friday highlighted the Lebanese government's obligation in reconstruction efforts during a conference titled "Reconstruction: A Plan or a Decision?" This event was organized by the Association of Urban Planning Specialists at the Beirut Order of Engineers.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Hamieh stated that "Reconstruction is a duty of the Lebanese government, to be carried out according to ministerial plans and decisions, and in cooperation with all stakeholders." This underscores the government's commitment to playing a central role in rebuilding the nation while ensuring that its initiatives align with established plans and involve all relevant parties.

Furthermore, the Minister pointed out the significant role of the engineering sector in these reconstruction efforts, referring to it as "the cornerstone of this mission." He underscored the necessity for speed and transparency in the execution of reconstruction projects, emphasizing that these are crucial for the successful implementation of plans.

Hamieh concluded his address by reiterating the importance of collaboration in reconstruction initiatives. "Collaboration is essential in this file, and we reaffirmed our commitment to these principles," he stated, indicating the government's dedication to working jointly with various stakeholders to achieve the reconstruction goals.
