Beirut: Caretaker Minister of Economy, Amin Salam, expressed optimism on Thursday about the potential lifting of Saudi Arabia's travel ban on its citizens visiting Lebanon. He took to the X platform to highlight the significance of such a decision, stating it would convey a strong message to the world that Lebanon is once again a safe and stable destination, embraced by Saudi Arabia with warmth and safety, qualities that have historically characterized the relationship between the two nations.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Salam shared insights from his recent visit to Riyadh, quoting close associates of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. They expressed their affection for Lebanon, stating, "We want Lebanon and the Lebanese not only on the train but in the driver's seat of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030." This statement reflects the Kingdom's intention to see Lebanon play a significant role in their future plans.
Salam also indicated that lifting the travel ban would serve as an invitation from Saudi Arabia to both the Arab and international communities to consider Lebanon as a renewed hub for investment. He emphasized that Lebanon holds historical significance and is positioned for future growth.
