Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, held a series of diplomatic engagements at Baabda Palace, including receiving the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov. The Belarusian minister, leading a delegation, congratulated President Aoun on his recent election and conveyed a written message from President Alexander Lukashenko. The message included an invitation for President Aoun to visit Belarus to discuss potential areas for bilateral cooperation and specific projects.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Lukashenko's message expressed confidence in President Aoun's leadership to strengthen Lebanon's security, economic, and political stability. Lukashenko emphasized Belarus's commitment to maintaining a friendship with Lebanon and its people.
In a separate meeting, President Aoun welcomed Hungarian Foreign Minister P©ter Szijj¡rt³, who also congratulated him on his election. The Hungarian minister discussed potential initiatives aimed at supporting Lebanon, particularly in assisting the Lebanese army. He expressed Hungary's intention to continue existing cooperation programs and looked forward to resuming joint ministerial committee meetings between the two countries.
President Aoun expressed gratitude to Hungary for its support of the UNIFIL forces in southern Lebanon and its assistance to the Lebanese Army. Additionally, President Aoun met with Bishop Michel Kassarji, Head of the Chaldean Community in Lebanon, who, along with a delegation, congratulated the President on his election. Bishop Kassarji commended President Aoun's decisions on Lebanese issues and expressed optimism for Lebanon's future under his leadership.
