UN Official to Discuss Humanitarian Support with Lebanese Parliamentary Committee

Beirut: The Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Committee, led by MP Fadi Alameh, is set to meet with UN Deputy Special Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator for Lebanon, Imran Riza. The meeting will focus on the United Nations' initiatives to support humanitarian needs arising from Israeli aggression and assist displaced individuals and returnees to affected areas. This session will take place at the MPs' Offices Building on the 3rd Floor.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, another committee session is scheduled to occur concurrently, chaired by MP Farid Boustany. This session will continue discussions regarding Lebanon's insurance sector, also hosted at the MPs' Offices Building on the 3rd Floor, Room 310.

Later in the day, under the patronage of President General Joseph Aoun, Saint Joseph University will inaugurate its new medical school building. This event will be held at the USJ Campus on Damascus Road, opposite the French Embassy.

The Leftist Secular Labor Organization will hold a discussion titled "The Challenge of Lebanese Immunity Against External Pressures and Threats" at their headquarters in Beirut - Wata Al-Museitbeh, opposite Al-Hout Pharmacy, Jardi Building, 1st Floor, at 5:30 pm.

At 6:30 pm, the Lebanese Order of Physicians in Beirut will honor doctors who were martyred while treating war casualties, as well as injured physicians and those who remained on the frontlines to provide medical aid. The event, held under the patronage of Minister of Public Health Dr. Rakan Nassereddine, will also see attendance from Minister of Labor Dr. Mohammad Haidar and MPs who are physicians. This ceremony is scheduled at Beit Al-Tabeeb, Furn El-Chebbak.

Finally, the Municipality of Zouk Mikael will commence the Lebanese Wine and Cheese Exhibition at 7:00 pm, hosted at the town's Crafts House and Square. The three-day event will feature artistic performances each evening.
