Beirut: Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, received Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon, Walid Al-Bukhari, at Dar Al-Fatwa, where he was briefed on the ongoing programs and projects executed by the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid in Lebanon, particularly during Ramadan.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the King Salman Center's initiative, under the patronage of the Mufti, involves offering aid and food rations across Lebanon. This project aims to distribute one hundred thousand food baskets, benefiting half a million individuals in all governorates, along with 22,000 purchase vouchers.
The media office at Dar Al-Fatwa reported that contributions from the King Salman Relief Center would be managed by the Zakat Fund to be allocated to orphans and needy families recognized by the fund.
The media office further confirmed that this aid is part of ongoing assistance efforts by Saudi Arabia within various relief and humanitarian programs in Lebanon. These initiatives are implemented by the King Salman Center in collaboration with local charitable and social institutions.
Ambassador Bukhari emphasized Saudi Arabia's commitment to supporting Lebanon's state revival and institutional integrity, encouraging unity among the Lebanese and the stability of their nation. He highlighted Saudi Arabia's encouragement of recent developments following the election of a new president and the formation of a government.
Mufti Derian expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia and its leadership for their support and efforts to aid Lebanon. He emphasized the importance of cooperation between Lebanon and its Arab allies, particularly Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The Mufti affirmed that Lebanon is on the path toward reform, progress, and stability, with the support of its citizens and regional allies.
