Beirut: Minister of Public Health, Dr. Rakan Nassereddine on Wednesday received in his office at the ministry, the United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Lebanon, Imran Riza. The meeting reportedly discussed joint projects being implemented between the Ministry of Public Health and United Nations organizations, in addition to discussing ways to address the challenges facing the country, most notably the ongoing displacement crisis.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the discussions aimed at strengthening the collaboration between Lebanese health authorities and UN entities to effectively manage public health initiatives and humanitarian efforts. The ongoing displacement crisis was highlighted as a significant challenge, necessitating coordinated efforts to provide essential health services and resources to affected populations.
The UN and the Ministry of Public Health have been involved in various projects to improve health infrastructure and service delivery in Lebanon, especially in the context of the country's socio-economic difficulties. Both parties emphasized the importance of continued cooperation to ensure that health services remain accessible to all, particularly vulnerable communities impacted by the displacement crisis.
