Beirut: Prime Minister, Dr. Nawaf Salam, on Monday afternoon chaired a meeting of the Supreme Council for Privatization at the Grand Serail. The meeting was attended by key government officials, including Minister of Finance Yassin Jaber, Minister of Economy and Trade Amer al-Bsat, Minister of Justice Adel Nassar, Minister of Labor Dr. Mohammed Haidar, and the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Judge Mahmoud Makiya.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting focused on several critical issues vital to the Council's functioning. One of the primary topics was the empowerment of the Council by appointing a Secretary-General. The discussion also involved examining the priorities of existing projects to make informed decisions on their progression. Additionally, the meeting aimed to compile a list of urgent new projects suitable for implementation within the framework of a public-private partnership. These discussions are seen as a pivotal step toward enhancing the effectiveness of privatization efforts in the country.
