Hankash Confers with Lebanese General Consul on Community Affairs and Expatriate Elections

Detroit: During his third stop in the United States, Kataeb bloc member MP Elias Hankash visited Detroit, Michigan, where he met with Lebanon's General Consul in Detroit, Ambassador Bilal Kabalan. The meeting was also attended by Shukri al-Masri, the head of the Kataeb Party's US region, and Zahi Abi Younes, the director of the Washington office of the Kataeb Party's foreign relations department.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Hankash and Ambassador Kabalan discussed the situation of the Lebanese community in Michigan, focusing on the challenges faced by the community. They explored ways to improve consular services and considered the facilitation and automation of Lebanese transactions to better serve the community.

The conversation also addressed the issue of expatriate elections. Discussions included methods to encourage participation, facilitate registration, distribute voters to polling stations, and streamline the voting process for Lebanese expatriates in the United States.
