Interior Minister Praises Smooth Electoral Process in Akkar

Akkar: During an inspection tour in Akkar, Interior and Municipalities Minister, Ahmad Hajjar, on Sunday praised the smooth conduct of elections, stating: 'Akkar holds a special place in our hearts. Today, voters are exercising their electoral rights freely and democratically, and the process is unfolding in a civilized and competitive atmosphere; a very positive sign.'

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Hajjar met with Akkar Governor Imad Labaki, Civil Defense Director General Brig. Gen. Nabil Farah, and senior security officers overseeing the elections. He noted that while minor incidents had been recorded in some towns, they were swiftly addressed by the army and security forces present inside polling stations.

The Interior Minister urged residents to cooperate with the security agencies and help conclude the day with more democratic spirit, emphasizing the neutrality of both the state and security apparatus.

Hajjar also extended his gratitude to the media for their role in covering the electoral process.
