Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri met with key figures at the second presidency headquarters in Ain El-Tineh, focusing on Lebanon's economic and political landscape. His engagements included discussions with the head of Lebanon's economic bodies and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon, former Minister Mohammed Choucair, addressing the country's general and economic conditions.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Speaker Berri also welcomed a delegation from the Audit Bureau. The delegation, led by Judge Mohammed Badran, included Court of Audit's Public Prosecutor, Judge Fawzi Khamis, along with Judges Zainab Hammoud and Nelly Abi Younis. During this meeting, the delegation presented Berri with the 2003 and 2004 budget closure of accounts and two special reports.
In another engagement, Berri met with UK Deputy Chief of Defense Staff, Air Marshal Harvey Smith, accompanied by a delegation. British Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamish Cowell, and Speaker Berri's Media Advisor, Ali Hamdan, were also present. The discussions were reported to cover the latest political and field developments in Lebanon and the broader region.
