Al-Hajjar Hopes Elections Renew Work Vitality in South Lebanon Municipalities

Beirut: Following the closing of ballot boxes after a long electoral day in the governorates of South Lebanon and Nabatieh, Interior and Municipalities Minister, Ahmad Al-Hajjar, affirmed that "the Lebanese people exercised their democratic right, and this is the most important thing," adding, "We hope that these elections will be a prelude to renewing work vitality in the various municipalities."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Al-Hajjar, speaking at the Interior Ministry, emphasized that there was no political interference in the electoral process. He acknowledged that issues such as violence and assaults on some individuals were documented and referred to the relevant authorities for follow-up without any leniency or interference.

Al-Hajjar also stated that "winning by acclamation is a sound democratic process," and noted that there is no legal issue with this matter.
