Rasamny Meets British Ambassador and Beirut Port Contractors’ Delegation

Beirut: Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, on Tuesday welcomed British Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamish Cowell, in his office. The meeting covered various topics and the general situation in Lebanon in light of the reforms being implemented by the Ministry. Rasamny affirmed that the Ministry is proceeding with these reforms, noting that 'security stability creates a climate for economic stability and encourages investment.'

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, earlier, Minister Rasamny met with a delegation from the union of contracting companies operating in cargo handling at Beirut Port, headed by Captain Joseph Awad. The companies operate within the container terminal (General Cargo). The delegation briefed the Minister on the difficult conditions they have faced following the August 4 explosion and the rise of the U.S. dollar, and discussed the role of these companies following the development of Beirut Port.
