President Joseph Aoun Receives Greek Defense Minister and Discusses Military Support

Baabda: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, welcomed Greek Minister of National Defense, Nicolas Dendias, at Baabda Palace. The meeting included the presence of Lebanon's Minister of National Defense, Major General Michel Menassa, along with a delegation comprising Greek Ambassador to Lebanon, Despina Koukoulopoulou, and other key officials.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, Minister Dendias conveyed greetings from Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and expressed Greece's intention to support the Lebanese Army. The support will include military vehicles, helicopters, trucks, and spare parts, strengthening the Lebanese military's role in safeguarding national stability and security, particularly in southern Lebanon. Minister Dendias also reiterated Greece's backing of Lebanon in regional and international forums and extended an invitation to President Aoun to visit Greece.

President Aoun expressed gratitude for Greece's proposed military assistance and support across various sectors. He also met with Environment Minister Tamara Zein, who updated him on the Environment Ministry's action plan focused on structural and sectoral reforms.
