Syrian Interior Ministry Initiates Ceasefire Implementation in Sweida

Sweida: The Syrian Interior Ministry has commenced the implementation of ceasefire understandings in Sweida Governorate through a structured three-phase process. Forces from the Ministry of Interior and Security have been deployed as part of the first phase, focusing on disengaging armed groups inside Sweida and Arab tribal forces to pave the way for restoring stability, releasing hostages, and evacuating those detained.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, a source from the Syrian Ministry of Information confirmed that an emergency committee has been formed. This committee, consisting of representatives from various ministries and government agencies, is tasked with expediting the delivery of essential humanitarian and medical aid, providing basic services, and repairing infrastructure. These efforts are part of the second phase of the ceasefire understandings, aimed at meeting urgent needs and enhancing tranquility with the help of mediators.

The source further detailed that the third phase will commence once calm is established. This phase involves the activation of state institutions and the gradual, organized deployment of internal security personnel throughout the governorate. These actions are in line with previously reached agreements and are intended to ensure the rule of law under the state's governance.
